Verdict

The HEAD Extreme One X 2026 is the most powerful racket HEAD currently makes. Diamond shape, 12K carbon face, Eva Soft core, high balance, 375-385g. This is the heaviest, most arm-demanding specification in the entire HEAD range, built for advanced players who need maximum overhead smash velocity.

12K carbon is the same face material used in the Coello Pro. Extremely stiff, extremely direct, maximum exit speed on centred contacts. The diamond shape concentrates the sweet spot in the upper hitting zone. High balance adds mass at the point of maximum leverage in an overhead swing. These three specifications together already create exceptional smash power - they are identical to the Coello Pro's approach.

The additional weight of the One X is what separates it from everything else HEAD makes. At 375-385g it is 10-20g heavier than most HEAD diamonds. For players with the physical conditioning to sustain that swing weight across a full match, the heavier construction adds genuine baseline authority and additional smash power that lighter rackets cannot match. The benefit is real and measurable - but only for players who can actually handle the weight consistently from the first point to the last.

Players who cannot sustain 375-385g across a full match will see their technique deteriorate by the third set. Their smash degrades, their elbow takes the load the swing weight was supposed to generate, and the very advantage the racket is designed to provide disappears. If you are not certain you belong at this weight, start with the standard Extreme Pro.

Arm load is the highest in the HEAD range by a meaningful margin. 12K carbon, diamond shape, high balance, and maximum weight create the worst-case conditions for off-centre vibration. Any arm sensitivity history should be treated as a hard stop. This racket is for physically conditioned advanced players who finish points with the overhead.
