Our verdict

The HEAD Radical Team Light 2026 is the beginner entry into the Radical range. round shape, fiberglass face, Eva Soft core, 350-360g - the lightest and most forgiving racket in the 2026 Radical lineup.

The round shape is the right starting point for beginners and the Radical Team Light makes no apology for being honest about its market position. Maximum sweet spot area means off-centre contacts - which happen constantly during the learning phase - still produce usable results. Beginners who cannot yet get to the ideal contact position on every ball, which describes every beginner accurately, need this forgiveness to keep rallies going and learn from the game rather than from frustration.

Fiberglass face and Eva Soft core keep vibration minimal throughout. During the learning phase players make many frame contacts, thin contacts, and poorly timed contacts per session. On a stiff construction these transmit stress that accumulates into arm problems. On the Radical Team Light they are simply absorbed. The arm stays comfortable, sessions stay long, and the learning process continues without physical interruption.

At 350-360g it is very light, which matters for players who have not yet built racket-sport arm conditioning. The Radical Team Light handles effortlessly from the first session. The balance is low, keeping the handle-end feeling accessible and reducing wrist fatigue.

The Radical name brings HEAD quality control to the beginner category. The frame is consistent and durable - it will survive the rough handling that early learning inevitably involves. Players who are developing beyond the beginner phase should step up to the Radical Team's teardrop shape. Players who want to begin attacking play earlier should look at the Extreme Team Light's diamond format instead.
